Research Interests:
My research centers on the representations of the Asian diaspora in Latin American Popular Culture. Specifically, I am writing my thesis on the transculturation processes of the diaspora in the 21st-century Latin American narrative, focusing on how these processes manifest within portrayals of food, memory, and nostalgia. Through my analysis, I hope to shed light on the conceptualizations of hybrid identities for the Asian diaspora living in Latin America. I am also interested in visual and lyrical representations in Latin American urban music, particularly in the genre of reggaetón.
