Study Abroad
Baylor University encourages all students to participate in one or more study abroad programs during their time at Baylor. Studying in another country often offers the student a chance to gain a complete view of the world through travel and contact with individuals from cultures different from one's own. Baylor University offers a wide range of opportunities to study abroad.
Baylor in East Asia
Seoul, Tokyo, and Hong Kong are dynamic, fast-growing cities which attract people and opportunities from around the world. Each represent unique case studies in business, social change, and urbanization, while also maintaining a unique culture deeply-rooted in their ancient history. These cities are not only regarded as "global" or "world" cities, but have also followed distinct paths to achieve this status. They are hubs for multinational corporations and regional centers for business, finance, and culture, each with its unique historical trajectory. The program’s location in these cities will allow students to study firsthand the diverse models of urban development and economic growth that define East Asia’s role in the global economy.
Baylor in Korea
Known as the Tech Valley of South Korea, Daejeon is the fifth largest city with one and a half million people. Because of its central location, it is the ideal place to see and visit almost anywhere in the country. Surrounded by mountains, with three different rivers running through the city, Daejeon is the perfect mix of traditional beauty and modern culture, making it a wonderful place to learn about Korea.
The Korean Culture Summer Program students will be housed in the Sibley House student dormitory in doubles and triples on campus at Han Nam University in Daejeon, South Korea. Modern and spacious, these dormitories provide communal kitchen space, laundry facilities, a semi-private bathroom, a bed and a desk. Sibley House is located right next to the campus and is surrounded by cafes, coffee shops, restaurants, shops, and more.
