Italian
Benvenuti!
Italian belongs to the group of Romance languages. This charming language is spoken by over 65 million people in Italy, the Vatican City, San Marino, and parts of Switzerland, as well as by Italian-speaking communities in Slovenia, Croatia, Albania, Malta, Tunisia, Argentina, Uruguay, and other countries.
Italian can help you get a job, as it is a useful complement to an international career in business, fashion, film, the travel industry, diplomacy, government, journalism, education, public relations, and many other fields. Studies show that people who are proficient in a foreign language are better paid than monolinguals.
So, why not consider taking Italian and perhaps minoring or declaring a secondary major in this language? We offer advanced courses in cinema, gastronomy, pop culture, civilization, language studies and literature. We also have several study abroad programs and extracurricular activities (namely the Italian Club and the weekly conversation group Tavola italiana) that make learning Italian fun!
